Tyler Gordon, CMHC Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Tyler Gordon grew up in Lakeshore, Utah, where the rhythms of family farm life instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and integrity. Today, he lives in St. George, Utah, with his wife and two children. Tyler is deeply committed to his family and works passionately to create a meaningful, purpose-driven life alongside them.
Tyler earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix in August 2018. With nearly two decades of experience in the substance abuse and mental health fields, he brings a wealth of clinical expertise and lived insight to his practice. Sober since July 15, 2008, Tyler’s personal recovery journey fuels his genuine passion for guiding others out of the grips of trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges toward lasting freedom and fulfillment.
In 2012, Tyler founded the Ripreza Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to quality recovery support. Through strong partnerships with community leaders and local treatment centers, the organization raises awareness about trauma and addiction while providing scholarships and financial assistance to individuals seeking recovery. Tyler remains committed to empowering those ready to do the hard work of healing—meeting them with compassion, respect, and unwavering advocacy.
Tyler is extensively trained in trauma-focused therapies, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). He also specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients remain grounded in the present moment while reconnecting with their core values. His integrative approach addresses the intersection of character, personality patterns, and life obstacles—guiding individuals to identify roadblocks, clarify their vision, and build the personal strength needed to create meaningful, lasting change.
Known for his ability to build deep, trusting relationships, Tyler creates a safe and supportive space where clients feel truly seen and empowered. Whether you are navigating trauma, addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, or simply seeking greater purpose and direction, Tyler is dedicated to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.

ART incorporates a combination of techniques used in many other traditional psychotherapies. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. Although techniques similar to these are used in other types of therapies, ART’s very specific and directive approach can achieve rapid recovery from symptoms and reactions that may have been present for many years. ART combines long respected, sound treatment practices with safe and effective methods validated by current scientific research studies conducted by the University of South Florida.

This EMDR specialization will help guide and inspire you to achieve more of your personal and professional goals. EMDR is a specialized procedure in which the therapist guides you in concentrating on a troubled memory or emotion while you move your eyes rapidly back and forth (by following therapist fingers). Clients create a Dual Awareness toward their troubling memory or emotion. It happens fast and can speed up the process quicker than traditional therapy can.

As its name implies is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that addresses the specific emotional and mental health needs of children, adolescents, adult survivors, and families who are struggling to overcome the destructive effects of early trauma. Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is especially sensitive to the unique problems of youth with post-traumatic stress and mood disorders resulting from abuse, violence, or grief. Because the client is usually a child, TF-CBT often brings non-offending parents or other caregivers into treatment and incorporates principles of family therapy. Counseling

Invisible Condition Alert Program
Utah’s Invisible Conditions Alert Program, created by the Utah Legislature during the 2023 Legislative Session, is a voluntary program that allows a person with a qualifying physical or mental condition to have a decal placed on a driver's license or ID card.
Utah's Invisible Condition Alert Program is designed to promptly notify first responders about a person's invisible condition that may directly impact the person's ability to communicate. Early identification of an invisible condition during interactions allows first responders such as law enforcement, firefighters, or emergency medical personnel to approach situations with heightened awareness and respond appropriately.
Utah Code 53-3-207: Invisible conditions include: a communication impediment; hearing loss; blindness or visual impairment; autism spectrum disorder; drug allergy; Alzheimer’s disease or dementia; post-traumatic stress disorder; traumatic brain injury; schizophrenia; epilepsy; a developmental disability; Down syndrome; diabetes; a heart condition; or any other condition approved by the department.
If you choose to participate in this voluntary program and your therapist diagnoses you with a qualifying invisible condition, your therapist will assist you in completing the invisible condition request form and submiting it to the Driver’s License Division by mail, fax, email, or nearest office location.
